JESUS CHRIST THE SAME, YESTERDAY,TODAY AND FOREVER
Hebrews 13:8 identifies Jesus as the only true God, who exists as the same unchangeable God "yesterday, today, and forever."
Trinitarians who believe that a God the Son lost his unchangeable divine attributes (such as omniscience and omnipresence) to become a man cannot explain how Jesus could remain “the same” while emptying himself of his divine attributes. In contradistinction, Oneness Apostolic believers affirm that Jesus the Christ is the only true God the Father who never lost any of His divine attributes in the heavens while simultaneously becoming a man.
In 1 Peter 1:11 and 2 Peter 1:21, Peter identified Christ as the Holy Spirit who spoke in the prophets before he actually became the Christ child. For 1 Peter 1:11 calls Christ the Spirit in the prophets, but 2 Peter 1:21 calls that Spirit the Holy Spirit. Hence, Jesus is the Holy Spirit of truth who incarnated Himself as a man through the virgin in Matthew 1:20 and Luke 1:35.
If a second God the Son Person left heaven to become a man, then “Jesus Christ” could not be said to exist “the same yesterday, today, and forever.” Therefore, those who hold the kenosis Trinitarian view are clearly violating Malachi 3:6 which says, “I am Yahweh, I CHANGE NOT,” and Hebrews 13:8 which says, “Jesus Christ THE SAME yesterday, today, and forever.”
If the only true God (John 17:3) eternally exists as three "He Persons" then we would have Tri-theism rather than true Monotheism. Since Jesus clearly stated that our Heavenly Father is the only true God to be worshipped in Spirit and in truth (John 4:23-24), the Word that was made flesh (a body) and the Holy Spirit who performed the incarnation must be manifestations of that only true God the Father Himself. Therefore the NT Scriptures uphold Monotheism, not Tri-theism.
